The Keep Bassendean Moving team will bring the skill-set, capability, and accountability to enhance a well-balanced Council for the next four years.
Mike Lewis
Current Deputy Mayor
I am a small business owner that has lived in Bassendean for over 25 years and I have been on council for the past 8 years, the second longest serving councillor.
Jessica Strauss
Candidate
I grew up in Bassendean and proudly call Eden Hill home. I currently work in Communications at UWA. I truly love the Town and want to see it grow in a sustainable way.
Craig Lucanus

I’m passionate about youth education. Through working as a teacher at Cyril Jackson Senior Campus, I'm able to gain valuable insight into the needs of our town’s youth and residents.
George Copley

I have been a long-term supporter of the Swan Districts Football club and a member of the Swansmen Association. I will act in the best interests of all residents and assess matters on merit without fear or favour.
Our Vision
We need to keep change happening in Bassendean, moving forward by electing leaders in our community who are capable and will be responsible to ratepayers.
Whilst much has been achieved on Bassendean Council, we need to ensure that there is consistency in decision-making, financial management, and accountability to continue to deliver change.
We need to elect leaders who don't make promises they can’t keep, or stifle progress with their inability to make decisions and balance the budget.
Now with the change of faces on council, we as a community are presented with new challenges. It’s time to call on experienced leaders in the community to make sure that all the progress we have gained in recent years is not lost.
With four positions vacant, we need to elect councillors who share the same vision for change and who will be accountable to residents.
Our Goals
Our team share common goals for Council that include:
- Focus on Accountability and affordable Rates,
- Plan for Development that protects mixed-use green public space,
- Provide a Child Health Clinic and playgroup centre,
- Save Australia Day fireworks,
- Keep Improving the town's services and amenities.
